Hi, I’m Or Golan.
I did my master’s in physics at Tel Aviv University, under Prof. Eran Sela, where I studied topological phases of matter. During my studies I also worked as a data scientist at SimilarWeb. After graduating I spent nine months at a startup, Manto, which did not survive, then returned to SimilarWeb full time until I joined Qedma in November 2020, where I worked as a quantum scientist on problems in quantum computing.
These days I’m a PhD student in Retzker’s group at the Hebrew University of Jerusalem, and I have interned three times at AWS’s Center for Quantum Computing. My interests center on the physics of quantum computers, quantum computing in general, quantum error correction, and AI.
This blog is where I write about whatever I happen to be thinking through: physics, quantum computing, and the way tools like AI are changing how we learn and work.
